Juan Nagel received an M.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics there. He has ample antitrust consulting experience, and while at applEcon he has worked in the cable, wireless, medical equipment, sporting goods, software, LCD panel, collegiate sports, electronic gaming, propane, and memory chips industries. He has done extensive work in Latin America, having served as a consultant to the Andean Development Bank, as well as the Chilean and Venezuelan antitrust agencies. He has also published articles about, among other things, development strategies in Latin America and the economics of collegiate sports. Juan has taught Microeconomics and Industrial Organization at the Universidad de los Andes in Santiago, Chile.
