applEcon’s client Valassis settles its lawsuit with News America for $500 million

News America Marketing, a division of the News Corporation that publishes coupon inserts for newspapers and sells in-store advertising in supermarkets, had been sued in three jurisdictions by Valassis, a competitor based in Livonia, Michigan, which accused it of anticompetitive behavior.
